1. On which factors does the life of tribes depend?
Ans. The life of tribes depend upon natural resources, forest products, agriculture and their art and skills.

2. Explain the principle of community living seen in tribes.
Ans. The principle of community living means living as a part of community. The tribal people have joint rights over land and land produce. The produce from the land is distributed among the families on the basis of their own rules. Social equality is seen in tribal community due to it.

3. On what basis it can be said that the Ahom society was a civilized society.
Ans. The Ahom practiced farming and irrigation and in war time participated in Army. They used innovative methods of paddy cultivation. They manufactured ammunition and Canons. They had well developed administration system and also focused on art and literature. E.g The historical work ‘Buranji’ was first written in Ahom language and then in Assamese. On basis of above things it can be said that the Ahom society was a civilized society.

4. How did the history of the Gond people differ from the Ahom people.
Ans. Both Gond and Ahom were attacked mu Mughals. The Gond people were defeated by the Mughal while the Ahom people although lost against Mughal but its dominance did not last long.
